Lowdown are proud that you have decided to visit their site. We are purvayors of fine quality, warped tunes about killing, the fear of God, bad weather, strange astrological occurances and haunted honeymoons. We hope you will keep popping in for a looksee at what we are up to and maybe come along and meet us at one of our shindigs.
Lowdown will play the SUN INN, Stockton on Tuesday 6th December 2011. Dave Haskins is reported to have said “I think it will be very nice”. Bass player of Lowdown, dave spends most days drawing buildings and musing on the complexity of modern life. Steve Ford will be pounding the skins in Stockton and was last seen in the little known Knut Smettsun short film “Digger-A Life” where he portrayed the forgotten Swedish speed metal drummer, Raff Po, who disappeared mysteriously after recording the seminal album “Grolsh” with SwedeRok legends Munch Housing. Steve has a degree in Icelandic studies and is a proponent of Method drumming. This system of drum practice requires several hours of meditation prior to each performance. “I like drumming” said Steve in a recent interview. Mike Ollier, very much the serious man in the band has been working hard in his day job as a biochemist. Mike invented a treatment for Tourettes Syndrome which involved a period of isolation in a small room with only a record player and a copy of “Derek and Clive Live”. Mikes close associates have noticed subtle changes in his demeanour since he developed this revolutionary therapy. Mike said “Print this and I'll F&??*&G kill you, you C**t”.
Known as a “hard core softie” Gary Chaplin will bring his inimitable “barely in tune” style to Stockton. He eschews traditional musical styles in favour of his own idiosyncratic compositions. “I have issues with the way the rest of the world chooses to hear music” he was heard muttering as he was ejected from the last Lowdown gig.
Enjoy!!!
